Early '80s Swedish rock history: The Bottle Ups were a guitar instrumental band that played mostly slow Link Wray covers but for some unknown reason they teamed up with Per Ahlen, the singer from the jangly pop band The Wayward Souls and recorded this nitrous-injected version of Boston band The Customs' song 'Long Gone'. It blows the doors off the original version and in terms of sheer ballistic force I think it's right up there with the Flamin' Groovies' 'Headin' for the Texas Border'. What do you think?
@milissa5678 Thanks for confirming that Milissa! I figured that was probably how it happened - could've been another Peter Greenberg of course but two guys with the same name and the same style seemed too much of a co-incidence.

Both Cincinnati and Peter Greenberg are correct (he moved to Cinci after DMZ) and later moved back to Boston to join the group Lyres already in progress,

Oops! You caught me out there Ritchie! It does too say Cincinnati on the record sleeve. I think I must've been fooled by the fact that they had a Peter Greenberg on guitar. Peter Greenberg (DMZ/Lyres) = Boston, right. Not this time. Do you know if he's the same Peter Greenberg or someone else? Would be glad to know.Thanx for the info - I'll fix up the mistake.

I think you got your history all mixed up. The Customs were from Cincinnati not Boston and the song was written by the great James Cole. I do like this punk version although not as good as the original.
