New Zealand is a place of many constrasts. Down south it is very much underpopulated outside the main towns. We met a traveller who had not seen a car for three hours on his drive to Queenstown. The landscape outside Queenstown is spectaclar, especially the Remarkable mountains. We also enjoyed the drive from Grenorchy into the mountains and we only stopped we we reached a river that was too deep for the car to cross. On the way we gave a lift to two lads who had been on the trainl walking for ten days. Doubtful Sound was interesting, but we most like the Otango peninsular.
