Sakyong Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche, Jampal Trinley Dradul (born Osel Rangdrol Mukpo in 1962). He is the head of Shambhala, a global network of meditation and retreat centers. He is also the lineage holder of Naropa University. The Sakyong holds the Mukpo family lineage, descending from the Tibetan warrior-king Gesar of Ling. He also holds the Kagyü and Nyingma lineages. As the incarnation of Mipham the Great, he is revered in Tibet as an emanation of Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom. The Sakyong continually maintains his personal meditation, study, and writing. He travels extensively, teaching throughout the world. He is a poet and an artist. He enjoys golf, running, horseback riding, and yoga.
