Oh really. Well, do you remember in the NBA that Indiana-Detroit confrontation at Auburn Hills that ultimately resutled in a brawl with the audience? And what about the Denver-New York incident? I'm sure that you have seen dugout clears in the MLB before and have something like this. It would have had one person get killed in them. It's bound to happen in ANY sport. So for the sports you're watching, you could say that they can be useless too...
I'm willing to reply to an intelligent comment. The list you gave was partial only. Juan Marichal almost killed John Roseboro in 1965 with a baseball bat. Kermit Washington almost killed Rudy Tomjanovich with 1 punch in 1977, and was ostracized out of the NBA. My point is these instigators of very dangerous situations should be kicked out of the sport, never to return, because they are criminals and should be treated that way.
