BEST SOUND AT 480p Little Girl by Frank Froba 1950's played on the 1957 RCA SHF-5 Hi-Fi I bought this RCA at the same house where it was delivered brand new 50 years ago. It came with its original instructions, schematic, warranty card, and delivery ticket. It did play but after about an hour the sound deteriorated, so I replaced all the caps in the amp. It still has its original Sonotone 2T mono hi-fi cartridge, but has a stereo compatible stylus. It has its original factory finish that is in like new condition, with almost no blemishes or scratches. The lady that bought it new 50 years ago was a school teacher and she took very good care of everything she owned . Frank Froeba or Froba (August 1907, New Orleans - February 16, 1981, Miami) was an American jazz pianist and bandleader.Froeba held jobs in the bands of Johnny Wiggs and John Tobin while still in his teens. He played with Johnny de Droit in New York City in 1924-25, then led his own band in Atlantic City in the latter half of the decade, in addition to moonlighting in other dance ensembles. He recorded with Jack Purvis in 1930 and with Jack Bland in 1932, then worked with Benny Goodman in 1933-35. From 1935 to 1944 he led his own band, including on recordings for Decca Records; Bunny Berigan and Joe Marsala both acted as sidemen on some of Froeba's releases. He was a house pianist for Decca in the 1930s and 1940s, playing behind Bob Howard and Lil Armstrong, among others. In 1955 he moved to Miami and performed as Frank Froba, moving more into popular performance.of broadcasting. An internet radio suggestion for listening to the great American classics from the 1920's to the 1980's in a 1950's style http://www.krli.net/

  • Very nice console. Love the ragtime music. Seems America was in a nostalgic mood in the 50's. My grandmother bought me albums and 45s by Joe "Fingers' Carr. She played piano and loved ragtime music. I still have these records in my collection and they bring back loving memories of my grandmother when I hear them.

  • @AstroSonic1967 HI I have a couple of Joe Fingers Carr albums, and I have always liked his playing. I will send the video to you.

  • Loved it !! The RCA is so nice. I would kill for a Stereo console with the tuner and control knobs on the front from the 50's..
