Follow these instructions to get rid of judder/stutter and get a big Framerate increase

1)Download and install these Drivers 285.79 (Nvidia beta! November 2011)

2)Go to your folder where Bf3 is installed (e.g. programfiles(x86). origin games. battlefield 3

and create a text file and put in
worldrender.spotlightshadowmapenable 0

3) save the file. as " User.cfg" accept.
This will generate a cfg file that the game loads everytime it loads a map or when you die etc etc.. so you don't have to re-type these commands everytime in the game while playing.

Note that if you also have problems with slowmo/stuttery cutscenes..

playable now on
1680x1050
Textures high
shadow high (lowering does not increase fps much)
effects high
Mesh quality low (noticable fps drop in certain areas. setting to low )
Terrain quality low (medium improves polygons highonly DX11 for tesselation)
Terrain decoration high (no real performance hit)
Deffered AA off (eats gpu)
post AA Low (slight anti aliasing while maintaining image crispness. medium and high anti-alias more but blur the screen even more)
motionblur off (hate it and eats up about 3fps average)
anisotropic filtering 8
ambient occlusion off (ssao if you really want, hbao can have even more fps impact)

Vsync on
Field of view only works in Multiplayer

My specs:
Intel Core 2 duo e6850 @ 3.6GHZ
GTX260 216 (680/1400/1100)
4GB DDR2 1066
win7 64bit

  • Not sure. i'm away from home a few days so i'm using my laptop at the moment.

But I think it's fine to install the new drivers.

It fixes some things. and adds ambient occlusion support for MW3 and Skyrim.

  • i have an 26850 too and running at 3.6ghz.

Can i ask what vcore and what nb voltage you use?

    tnx

  • @hiephoi058

core voltage in bios set around 1.47v

    Cpu-z idle 1.432v

    Cpu-z load 1.408v

get random crashes sometimes but i'm not really sure about the cause.

nb..no voltage change (not even sure if possible on a P5Kse mobo)

  • @funkyray87

    Thank you for your information.

I have about the same vcore i have cpu 1.42v

I did have random crashes too, but after i replaced the thermal paste on the North bridge, i have no crashes anymore. Because your cpu runs faster, the NB is working harder and get hot. The thermal paste needs to be replaced because when i opened my NB there was noting, only a piece of paper. lol

  • @hiephoi058

Thanks for the tip.. will try that
