  • I'm all for it so long as they hold MSNBC, CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, The NYT, SNL, The Daily Show, The View, Helen Thomas' corpse, Chris Matthews' leg and Bruce Springsteen to the same standard.

For every anti-Bush song that the Indigo girls belt out, they will have to produce one pro-bush ballad. Everytime Chris Matthews gets a chubby for Obama, he will be required to have impure thoughts about Eric Cantor.

  • Liberal shows simply are not as appealing as conservative ones. Why does the government have to legislate what people find entertaining? This is a very slippery slope here if this gets passed.

  • Translation: They don't say what I want them to say. They are critical of me and must be silenced in the name of freedom.

Yeah, that's all about free speech. This guy is all that's wrong about big government.

  • @letom82 LOL! actually there have been tax increases when commrade barry took office. People hate the fairness doctrine because unlike you, they dont want a mommy and daddy government wiping their asses for them and telling them how to run their shows. But I get it, you want to crown Obama emperor for life and make criticizing him punishable by death.

  • we can see what has happened and why since republicans deregulated media.

They deregulated it so they (republicans) can lie with impunity and they have since turned American politics into a sewer.

  • Freedom of Speech : "Right, as stated in the 1st and 14th Amendments to the Constitution of the United States, to express information, ideas, and opinions FREE of government restrictions based on content."

1791, the First Amendment was ratified, "Congress shall make no law ... abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press."

If we let this happen, the internet WILL be next. I can see a revolution in our near future. Either made by the government or we the people.

  • It doesn't matter how STUPID the commentator is. What concerns me is "WHO" is deciding what can and can't be said. Who decides what's "FAIR"? Freedom of speech is just that. Your freedom to make a statement on this video is the same as my freedom to refute it. If someone wants to print something "stupid" in a news paper or say something on the airways it's their freedom to do so. BUT, just because someone says something you don't agree with doesn't mean it should be silenced.

  • "A higher calling..." .... MY GOSH THIS IS INSANITY !!!

What other higher calling could there be beyond freedom of speech!?!? What a freekin blow hard. I'm sick of politicians imposing their idea of "what's best for us" and regulating EVERYTHING. HANDS OFF you power hungry nut jobs!

"A truly sovereign nation is a nation made up of truly sovereign individuals".

  • Fairness Doctrine???

Does that mean I can rebut Couric's BS stories on gun control, abortion, and climate change? LOL

    Liberals just want a monopoly.

    Talk radio IS equal time.
