i have a friend who was struck by lightening in his car it did lots of damage to the car but everyone was perfectly fine.

I'm sure they tested all this before he got in and knew it was safe.

@bigfoot6433 generally speaking its more the fact that in a high concentration of liquid, example: in the tank of the car, it wont combust. Thats why the engine atomizes the fuel it uses before trying to ignite it, making it highly flammable and explosive.
