A First World War soldier with a Smooth Collie army messenger dispatch dog at Vulnerable Breeds parade at Crufts 2008. Only 43 Smooth Collie puppies were registered with the Kennel Club in 2008, compared with 1171 Rough Collies and 2375 Border Collies. The parade was organised by Paul Keevil to show the plight of some of Britain's most endangered native dog breeds.

  • We're learning about WWI in history class at the moment, and I'm in the process of getting a smooth collie (preferably smooth, that is) myself. This is awesome. :) Probably wouldn't have seen this on normal circumstances, since I live in the states, but still. :D

  • Nice information about Smooth Collie :-)
