the book was called In Grandma's Attic btw ;) very sweet book for anyone who loves quilting. of course i don't know if it is in print anymore. i read it back in the early 80's as a child.

gorgeous. i hope to make a quilt one day. i read a book once about a quilt which was made by a grandmother entirely using pieces of fabric which came from their family's life...i.e. a scrap of fabric from the gown someone was christened in; a scrap of fabric from the dress mom wore on her first date with dad; a scrap of fabric from someone's first job uniform...etc. all memorable fabrics, so each scrap told a story. i can't go back in time to recup my own childhood fabrics - i wish i could.
