people on my job were looking at me the same way I was like....I cut my hair not my fingers!! Hair does grow.... No one does all of that when white person cuts their hair.

wow that's almost the same reaction i got from my mom when i did my "big chop" i say almost because she was shocked that i cut it all off but she said she knew it was a matter of time because "you always cutting on your hair" (her exact words) lol congrats on you transition from authentic to natural...welcome to the club!

Awwh! I asked my mother to do my BIG CHOP. She did it but it took her 3 hrs to come down stairs and do it. She never tried to talk me out of it she just kept saying "ur hair grows fast" I didnt get any negative responces with the exception of one person. The folks I believe dont like it just arent saying anything to me (which is cool). Good luck with ur beautiful journey. I WANT TO BELIEVE UR MOTHERS TEARS WERE TEARS OF JOY. L ; )
