Indeed we could, but I do disagree concerning the drivetrain of the 911 and M3 being superior. I hope you are right about the C7, but I am not optimistic at all for it. After the year that GM has had, I can't imagine the C7 being developed for a long, long time, if at all. It just doesn't appear to be a feasible car for them to invest in right now. If they do, I believe it will be a total redesign, going in a very different direction. Who knows, only time will tell I suppose.
Well I have to disagree, I would say that the M3 and 911 both have superior interior quality as well as engine/powertrain. That being said I believe that the Corvette is a great sports car and has great potential when a C7 launches hopefully sometime in the near future. We could argue all day about what we think about these cars, but I still think that the Corvette can and will be better with improved fit and finish.
ALL Vettes meet the needs of the everyday driver quite suitably. Great gas mileage, particularly in comparison to the competition. Dependable, reasonable maintenance costs, & owner servicable (or moreso than a considerable portion of its competition). Pertaining to the M3 & 911, why would I pay as much or more for a slower vehicle? It will cost more to buy (not sure about the M3, might be less than a Z06), maintain, fuel, and will still get beat at the track and on the street time & time again.
Build quality, interesting. In what area? Interiors, perhaps. Engine/drivetrain? No. I believe that in a car which costs as much as a Z06 or ZR1, a "cheap" interior would be an outrage if it were a slow car, or designed at all for the luxury crowd. But it is anything but slow, and was in no way, shape, or form designed for the luxury crowd. The gtr may have "similar" performance up to ~120, but after that it is all Vette. On a road course it is close I suppose, depending on the track really.
You and I both know that GM needs to put a better interior in these cars. These cars need to be able to meet the needs of the driver every day of the week, not just on race days. A race car with only a seat, tach, and steering wheel might work, but it wouldn't work for a daily car.
The seats are terrible and offer no lateral support, the steering wheel is the same one they use in a Malibu, and the cheap plastic on the dash is inexcusable in a car that costs over 100K. And mas much as you might hate me for saying it, the Nissan GT-R offers similar performance for a smaller sticker price and has a much better interior. A BMW M3 and 911 Carrera are also purist cars that offer much better build quality than any corvette.
I hate the arguement people always use against Vette's: "the interior is subpar." Compared to what?? Another car this fast in this price range? Oh that's right, THERE ISN'T ONE. It's a fuckin supercar, if you want something cushy for your ass then buy that blur...er Ferrari you just flew by...if you want to waste a whole lot of money that is. I too love the Corvette, and I honestly wouldn't give a fuck if all it came with was one seat, a tach, and a fucking steering wheel. It is a purists car.
Saying that the Corvette has a subpar interior was my own criticism. How is that hoping on the "import/top gear band wagon"?

your mom is subpar.
p.s.
way to hop on the import/top gear band wagon. Come up with your own criticism about the car instead of stealing other people's
