A quick and dirty video demonstrating Firxt Train View. Firxt Train View is a Google Earth plugin similar to Google Street View.
Firxt Train View does not require a Street View 'car'; the images are sourced from existing video footage. The images are positioned on the earth in a semi-automated process to give views at several locations along train routes.
Firxt.com (pronounced like 'first') is a mobile search portal website bringing Opensearch and Sherlock plugin capability to mobile devices.

P.S. Movie made using Google Earth Pro Trial Version (hence the watermark). I found it clunky for making videos, perhaps it would perform better with more RAM. It looks much better in the flesh!
