@lynottlives I work in film and they hardly ever get artists to pre-record live vocals. Almost all the time the artist "performs" the song with the studio version on playback on-set. Then the clip is muted during post-pro and the studio version is looped over completely. Having to pre-record a live version /just/ for an episode is a ridiculous use of money on already-strapped TV series' budgets.

@halfwaytocliche ...i said they couldn't have had him mime to a pre-recorded live version? which they do all the time in films and tv...it looks a bit stupid to have someone mime at a concert to a studio version of a song. I know lots of films do it but i just think it's a bit lazy
