Born on January 22rd 1959 in Belgrade, Serbia. After finishing the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in the eighties, he moved to Italy, first to Pisa, then in Viareggio in Modena, where he meets with the work of Italian contemporary artists (Tansavangardia, Hipermannerism ....) who returned to painting in the center of artistic interest citing the experience of the past. Although it did not fit into the aforementioned movements, had much in common with them and developed a distinctive style is peculiar. Unlike the Italian painters who were to base on their past, Damian is pulled their stylization and simplification inspired by wall paintings and icons from the Serbian tradition. This expression is combined with modern pop culture expression and effects of modern media.
The 1989th meets the galleries of Florence and Modena (Customs and Catelan), who began to purchase and exhibit his paintings.
