A little experiment. I recorded this cover of Martha's Harbour by All About Eve some years ago, with no intention of uploading. But just recently a friend made a beautiful remix, taking this bare track and adding some real magic to it. After much debate on which to upload, I decided on both. This here is the bare track with just my guitar and vocals. Please have a look and listen to the remix of this by my friend Rich, which you can find under my uploads.

I sit by the harbour
The sea calls to me
I hide in the water
But I need to breathe

You are an ocean wave my love
Crashing at the bow
I am a galley slave my love
If only I could find out the way
To sail you...
Maybe I'll just stow away...

I've been run aground
So sad for a sailor
I felt safe and sound
But needed the danger

You are an ocean wave my love...

  • Beautiful

  • This is lovely; you make it a completely different song than the one recorded by All About Eve. A beautifully subtle interpretation expertly performed. I put this on repeat an embarrassing number of times.

  • Magic voice! I so admire your musicmaking.

  • as with everything else you've done- Beautiful!!!!!!!

    thankyou

  • Hi Helen,

  • Helen, long time, and no talk, I hope you're keeping well. This piece is just beautiful, I love your vocals, they're so ethereal, and the chord progressions in this song are beautiful. I don't know why you're not famous already. Please keep gracing us with your beautiful playing and singing. :] 'Go han-mhaith!!'..
