Actually, they are much OLDER Communication TECHNOLOGY such as using a FIRE and their SMOKE to send those SIGNALS over a Good Distance! ;-)

seems more stable due to whole mass weighing on the small base... but it does obstruct the view (if not operation). Maybe the base plate is not necessary. Where can i buy one anyway?

hmmmmm... I never thought to do it vertical.
Seems to work just great, though.
Today, BUG's are like the Horse-and-Wagon. You have to have an appreciation for them before you can enjoy their operation. I do, but then again, there just are not many of us left anymore.
