AT&T is terrible. If you have a problem with their service you'll be talking to 5 different people till they tell you they dont know what the problem is.

@StarktheMonkey Service your area*
Side note: There are more pros and cons that I did not list, mostly because I cannot think of them at this moment.
Searching the internet might give you a better idea of both providers though.

@StarktheMonkey Overall, I found that Bright House is at least twice as good as AT&T when it comes down to comparing internet services, customer support, and technician setup fees.
If I had to choose between the two, I would go with Bright House.
If your able to, however, I would suggest going for Verizon, since they offer excellent customer support, with great prices to match. The trick is if they server your area or not, and if they don't stick with Bright House.
Hope this helps. -Stark

AT&T also provides whats known as a "dynamic IP". This is an IP that changes everytime you logon. It prevents hackers from accessing your system.
Cons: AT&T "can" be expensive, although its usually not for internet.
They have VERY poor and VERY expensive technician charges. Just installing the internet can run you 250 dollars for the basic installation.
They have 'weak' connectivity at random times. This means if your paying for 800kbs, you might only get 450.

AT&T pros:
AT&T has multiple monthly plans that allow you to match it to almost anyones budget. The lowest offers 800kbs for 20 dollars a month, which is VERY affordable when you consider a standard 2megabit connection (350kbs) usually goes for about twice that from other companies.
They offer freeware such as pop-up blockers, personal firewalls, etc. at 'no additonal cost'.
They offer GREAT parental controls, assuming thats even a concern.
I have Bright house for many years more than 10 and I love it. Whenever there's something wrong I call and it gets fixed. If not they come the next day and fix them themselves. It's really good. Now AT&T they are ok but I don't like they're service. They take forever to help you.
