"Only in Japan" is the name of the series. I hear rumors that dragonflies live in other parts of the world but these are yet unconfirmed.
Video responses welcome.
Inspired by Ericsurf6 and his pet spider.

  • Are you sure you guys didn't hurt it? It seemed to have trouble flying off in the end.

  • I don't know for sure, of course. I don't speak tonbogo.

  • Ok, so I'm not sure if you were actually joking about unconfirmed rumors about dragonflies in other countries etc. so I'm going to pretend you were serious and say that there are. Cool video btw.

  • I would like you to thank you for at least considering the fact that I was joking. Others did not.

  • Cool! Now eat him.

  • You first!

  • those same things live in europe too.. i live in finland and at summer they fly over lake shore and catch mosquitos etc..

  • ウスバキトンボじゃないかな?

    少なくともアカトンボじゃないと思います

  • Holy mother earth, this gives me chills.

  • A dragonfly bit my toe once. >:

  • Wow, I've never had the opportunity to see a dragonfly up close before. This was quite a treat!

  • I guess it's Usuba-ki-tonbo (Pantala flavescens).

You can find same dragonfly in many parts of the world (including eastern US).

  • I love this series! You always show things I've never seen before, even though I live in Japan, too :P

  • You got nice macro on your camera. I had the opportunity to photograph a dragonfly up close once. It was just resting on a branch and I could get really close without scaring it away.
