de Rosee & Sa were commissioned by the literary agency, Lutyens and Rubinstein, to create the interior of a new independent bookshop and office in Notting Hill. Sarah Lutyens and Felicity Rubinstein aspired to expand their successful literary agency into independent bookselling.

The shop itself is arranged over two levels, the ground floor and part of the basement. A sliding bookshelf conceals the private office and meeting room in the basement, whilst allowing the space to be opened up as a venue for film screenings or book signings. The bookshop has been designed for flexibility; joinery cubes on castors allow for the rearrangement of the counter, shelving modules have the ability to be transformed from seating alcoves to three different book display arrangements.

The shelving, constructed off-site by a specialist joinery contractor, conforms to two datum levels. A low level shelf doubles up as seating or display surface and a high level steel rail supports the modular globe lighting and hanging signs. de Rosee & Sa`s design encompasses bespoke joinery, metalwork, lighting and signage but the concept extends much further to complement the Lutyens & Rubinstein`s brand.
