Sounds like a rationalization to me. It only takes ONE product purchased to support to abuse of chinese laborers, some of them 14-16 years old. Even if Foxconn lost all of Apple's business, they would still be doing what they are doing, like they HAVE BEEN for the past 20 years. This is not a "new" problem. Where was this guy when the foxconn workers were putting together sony walkmans on the assembly line in the 90s?
@surgeyX How many houses would you say have at least one sony product, or one microsoft product? Ok, now tell me how many you think have an apple product? two apple products? three apple products? four apple products? Not only that, when a new model comes out (iphone 3, 3gs, 4, 4s, ipod latest gen, ipad 2,etc). That becomes a LOT of numbers. Apple, above all else, need to apply more ethics into their manufacturing process, kinda like facebook with their computer infrustructure.
That's EXACTLY right!! I'm not on stage bashing companies and people who farm out work to the Chinese though -- this guy IS! Big difference, don't you think???
There's not many true activists left in the USA. There's people who think changing their facebook icons or blacking out their websites will make a difference, or performing a monologue in a theater will do something...it doesn't. Gotta ask yourself if you really care that much about an issue that you will really do something to affect change (ie. stop buying their products).
@surgeyX or maybe him telling his experience will inspire true activist to do something about it? Cause well over 2/3 of the country is completely in the dark.
It is not Apple who has to change the way Foxconn treats the workers. Apple is only the reseller of the products. Not the actual manufactorer.
