Will a Christian college build a student's faith or tear it down?

Parents and students sacrifice large sums of money for a Christian college education. Why? They are purchasing a guarantee their child's faith in God and the Bible will be guarded and developed. But is the Bible being taught? Will they graduate believing in the inerrancy of Scripture, the Flood of Noah's Day, and a literal six day creation?

Apologetics powerhouse Ken Ham and Dr. Greg Hall reveal an eye opening assessment of 200 Christian colleges and universities. In an unprecedented 2010 study by America Research Group, college presidents, religion and science department heads were polled on critical areas of Scripture and core faith questions.

Their responses will shock you. Some have already compromised.

  • Don't confuses "faith in the Bible" with "believing God created in the earth in 6, literal, 24-hr days." Actually, if you take the Bible "literally" God created in the earth "In the Beginning" (In Hebrew this means "at some point") On the six days of "creation" He doesn't really CREATE ANYTHING (except people). Read it. God just divides stuff (land/water) Allows some land to produce some vegetation...etc.

I could be wrong, but I guess this is why Bible school is a good thing...right?

  • I reject litmus tests like the ones promoted here. Jesus did the same, calling out the pharisees, who carefully made sure they fit all the outward tests of being "religious" while missing the big point. They tithed even their spices while failing important qualities like mercy and justice.

Whether or not someone believes that Genesis 1-2 was literal or not is irrelevant to their faith in Christ. As Christians, our faith is to be in God, not the Bible.

  • There was a time I would have said "yeah! you tell them, Ken! Make sure the colleges don't stray from the truth" Then the Spirit revealed to me that this stance in and of itself can be idolatrous. Now, I can say that these colleges on the "Creation College" list are exactly the ones I want to avoid for my kids. I can see now that in these places, critical thinking is not allowed. Only thinking that further propagates their pet dogmas. Thank you Father for that revelation!
