Awesome!

That isn't a vichitra veena. It is a chitra veena, a southern Indian slide veena. Vichitra veena resembles a rudra veena. However, this playing is ecstatic and amazing. Peace!

It was good to see somebody else on Vichitra Veen other than the omnipresent Ravi Kiran.
Vid and aud are totally out of sync.
Details of artiste and performance???

A little bit more about the artistes and the instruments. Why Vichitra Veena?

Now I can hear how the phrases are not Malkauns phrases. It's exquisite and I'm so excited that you are able to comment back. Can you tell me whether there is a C arnatic equivalent for Raga Shree? Thank you for posting!

There should be an equivalent of Hindustani Shree in Carnatic system as thousands of ragas were created or discovered with all possible permutations and combinations long ago. It is Poorvi That similar to the 51st Mela Kamavardhani of the Carnatic. Shree's arohi and avarohi are sa ri ma pa ni sa sa ni da pa da ma ga ri sa. Even if we tried to trace the equivalent in Carnatic, there could be differences in the vakra prayogas. The mother scales are similar though.

Very beautiful! Is this Malkauns?

Thanks. It was Suddha Dhanyasi, a derivative or Janya Raga of Kharahara Priya and has the folloing swaras in Aarohi and Avarohi sa ga ma pa ni sa.
