  • Thanks for your comments. Sorry to hear you have same problem. But it's nice to know I'm not the only one who has this problem. Sometimes I feel like the only one in the world that feels this bad. Really takes you down.

  • Thanks for all your comments. Yes its painful, yes it itchy and makes me feel ugly, but hey it's getting into summer here now and its almost gone. I have a watery eye sometimes, but most of the time now its ok.

I am not looking forward to late winter early spring next year.

People have told me get rid of my pets, I am like I DON"t think so lol

  • Hang in there. I've only had it around the eyes for about 1 year, and it has me up a tree. Can't imagine what 52 years would be like. Best of luck treating it.

  • @schemula thanks I have had eczema for 52 years, only around the eyes for about the last few years, but only in the months that covers end of winter beginning of spring. But never this bad. its almost gone now, only a bit itchy now and making my eyes water slightly. Hope by this time next month it will be all gone. Hope yours is getting better.

  • I know how you feel! i have also eczema in my face and i can see we look the same around mouth and eyes...i know how it is and i am really sorry we have to live with this,i also have it all my life and i use cortison and moisturizer to try and hold it back but it comes right again and because of the red dryness i cant cover my mouth (the area around) or around eyes:(( but when i go south like Greece when its warm and the salt water i look very good...i hope you are feeling better..best wishes!!

  • I am dealing with the same issue. My eyelids look just like yours. I am also tired of it. best of luck to you.

  • where do you live? I find my eczema goes away when I go to Vancouver (west coast Canada) and reappears when I return home to Toronto (central east Canada).

The salt air & moisture from the Pacific ocean makes it go away, then the dryer air in central east Canada make it come back.

  • Try extra virgin coconut oil..apply it and or have a few teaspoons.

Also try Selsun Shampoo..even if u dont have dandruff..it can help with the face..use it as a shampoo and see if u get relief..

  • @kiwidreams3 Yeah, my dog stays and so does my morning coffee. Everything else is fair game though, lol.

  • @kiwidreams3 I have a new doctor, and I go in and he asks me what I'm there for today and I tell him my eyes are driving me crazy, swollen, red, itchy, etc. He WON'T EVEN TALK about my eyes. I think he thinks I have Lupus, and this condition with the eyes is a symptom of that. maybe have your doctor look into the Lupus angle. Of people with Lupus, 90% are women, so, it's a little weird that I have it (I tested positive once, and we are retesting now) but I think it's worth looking into.

  • 3. I've been putting CeraVe moisturing lotion on my eyelids, under my eyes and all around the sides. This seems to work wonders on the itching. I got a few small bottles from my dermatologist, who has otherwise been of no real help. I can get the bruised purple look to go away if I keep at this.

I still get flare ups, but this regimen seems to help me out somewhat.

When they itch/burn, apply the Soothe. When the eyelids feel itchy, apply the lotion. It's not a cure, but seems to help.

  • Here is what I have been doing lately, and it's kind of working.

    1. As great as it feels, I'm trying not to rub my eyes. I still do, especially when I'm asleep, but in general, I'm really trying to avoid it.

    2. I've been using Bausch & Lomb Soothe. They are just lubricating eyedrops. The little tubes are big enough to last a whole day or two.
