Pietro Torrisi - from Peplum Golden Era to Barbarian Master

Here are more clips of Italian bodybuilder Pietro Torrisi.

Pietro was never the leading man in Peplum films from the Golden era of the genre. He was often in the background and rarely had speaking parts. Here are some brief appearances of Pietro in a couple of vintage Peplum flicks, which he isn't even credited for at IMDb but it's him for sure.

That's him lifting the man over his head in the comedy Maciste vs Hercules in the Valley of Woe. He's basically used as beefy background decoration in the scene from Ali Baba & the Sacred Crown.

We then jump to the 1980s, when Pietro's career, at the age of 40, suddenly got hot thanks to the Conan the Barbarian trend. He has a bit part in Ironmaster as a bearded villain but got a couple of leading roles in ultra low budget Conan-inspired knock-offs, like The Barbarian Master. Pietro was still in great shape and did most of his stunts.

It's a pity they did'nt use him when he was younger as he was more interesting to watch in some scenes than the main actors. Nice overview of his films.
