How to Mic an Acoustic Guitar

A cool technique I just learned is to record your acoustic guitar track, make 2 copy's of that track, hi pass one track to get string noise, low pass the other to get the body of the guitar mix those with the original track panning them left and right and you'll have a full bodied "faux" stereo acoustic guitar track, without having to hassle with multiple mic's and phase issues.

@RobbieBarnby yes you would put it in the same place.
Condenser mic picks up more detail, such as why it's used for vocal and acoustic instruments a lot. Also, it has larger SPL (Sound Pressure Level) this is why it's detailed. The Shure Sm58 is ment for being a soild mic and being very robust. it's used for live vocal, can be used for recording electric guitar, (placed at the speaker of the amp) and it can also be used snare drums, though the Sm57 is more commenly used for the snare drum.

i have a SHURE sm58 its not a condenser mic... do i put it in the same place?
and what is the difference between them why is a condenser mic better?
