Laguna Seca Radical SR3

Track day at Laguna Seca in Monterey, CA. This is most of a session (advanced/instructor group) with me driving a Radical SR3. I was doing a test day in the car thanks to Radicals West, because I was considering one for purchase. I ended up with the Lotus Exige S. The Radical is still one of my favorite!

For the record, the lap times are 1:42, 1:45, 1:41, and 1:42. That's all in traffic.

Beautiful driving. I'm surprised your lap times aren't faster. Given that porsche GT3, Viper ACR, 997 turbo, Nissan GTR, Corvette Z06 and Audi R8 have all turned in 1:40 or faster, I wonder what the SR3 can do with a pro driver and no traffic. The SR8 is too expensive, but the SR3 is in no man's land. Maybe a little faster than a supercar, but priced like a supercar when it's just a track day toy. Hard to justify owning one....

Thanks very much... but I must inform that this was a *borrowed* car and my only solo session in it. I only drove it 2 sessions that day (the first with the owner as passenger). I am quite sure that I could get the lap times well under 1:40 - probably closer to 1:35 - if I had more time in the car.

Properly driven, an SR3 runs in the 1:26-1:27 range at Laguna. No street car can touch that.

how is a sr3 priced like a super car? I've seen them priced at 38,000 $us or around that figure, more priced like a good road car.

Great driving! I lol'd when you blew by that Ferrari 360 @ 2:00. The Radical is a beast! I'd love to drive one!
