so she thought it was a layout but i still think it's too tucked to be a layout. as for the piked full in, either the tuck comes right before the landing or i'm gonna call it a tuck as well
-
and she says: first time ever preformed in a big championship,
Albina Shishova, Aleftina Priakhina and Ekaterina Szabo did ia other major competitions (europeans, worlds etc.) and they did a tuck full.

Shawn johnson does a tuck full. this is a layout full with little bent knees.
a full-in pike with a little bit bent knees is also not a full-in tuck.
-
a layout with knees bent is a tuck
-
it was not tuck but layout, even more difficult.
-
I still can't believe she did it 22 years before. omg

Fabulous. Still breathtaking all these years later. Dudnik and Yang Bo were the best beam workers of their time. Maybe of all time. There's nothing convoluted about what they did on beam. Just difficult, creative combinations that no one else was capable of, and dancing with grace and fluidity. One could only hope to do this kind of gymnastics. Love it.

it's amazing how she could nail the tuck full every time. it such a difficult skill even gymnasts nowadays struggle with it all the time
There's no way Dudnik couldn't nail split leaps. I'm tempted to believe it is a stylistic choice rather than an error or inability to extend, though I couldn't know for sure. If this was the case, I guess it wouldn't be a deduction unless there was a 180-degree split requirement like there is today.

definitely one of the great beam routines ever presented in competition.
