Our very first gig @ the Inglewood Cherry Blossom Festival, April 16th, 2011. Cold day! (c) Lee Shropshire, 1993
One night back in Toronto's Kensington Market, I was at a neighbourhood speak-easy, listening to some awesome jazz band, and this kid approached me, wearing a tank top (it was the middle of winter), and smoking a cigarette. He asked, "Wanna cig?," I said no thanks. Then he asked me if I wanted to get high, and could he walk me home. He looked 18, and was really starting to irritate me, but in an amusing way. Good lookin young man, but seriously.... I don't know how he got in, and I'd never seen him in my hood. Anyway, I say all this as truth and good humour. AS IF! I thought it made for a good song, but as soon as I posted our web-link with the vid of this song on facebook, my facebook page lost a few friends! This is my disclaimer-- it sure as hell dates me :) And it's twenty years later;)
