On the north shore of Lake Ontario just 45 minutes from my home is the largest fresh water bay-mouth sand bar in the world. This 7 kilometer long natural wonder is the centerpiece of Sandbanks Provincial Park, Canada. One of the busiest Provincial Parks in the Ontario Park System, these dunes now attract more than 500,000 visitors every year.

This is a story about changes. Changing attitudes and changing environments. This is my story but it could be your story. Have you been keeping an eye on the wild spaces in your back yard?

With this video we want to stimulate community interest and understanding of Sandbanks Provincial Park. We want to do our part to help ensure the protection of its natural and cultural resources for future generations.

  • I like going snowmobiling here.

  • @farmf250 I was not aware that you could ride snow machines on the dunes. Or are you just riding on West / East Lake?

  • I love camping here. It's so sad that people don't treat this beautiful area as it should. :(

  • @prinsesed1 We love it also. Thank you for your comment.

  • Thanks for sharing this! Some amazing shots, really sad to see how people can disrespect such an amazing place by littering.

  • @sandbanksvillage We are hoping that this video will help. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

  • @EconoChallenge well, you're probably not supposed to, but i'm a local.

  • Good Lord, I haven’t seen a Carling bottle in years! Carling Black Label was a popular beer in my home state when I was younger. This is a great video Jeep, very informative.

  • @101xfmrogers Thank you for your suggestions. We are still learning how to promote a channel like this. We can use all the help we can get. And so do our precious wild spaces.

  • all that trash is a very sad thing. It's too bad these dunes aren't at a more remote area like la reserve faunique la verendrye or northern ontario. The sadder part is that only 93 people have seen this quality video. You should have had at least 93000 views by now.

You need a new way to promote your channel, new editing skills or something. Maybe posting video on popular channels would help a bit. Channels I like: spricket24 uxwbill (davidsfarm he pollutes a lot but uses his recycling bin)
