Review - Samba de Amigo (Wii)

My second video review, this time for the Wii game Samba de Amigo.

Three things of note:

1) Sorry if the color flickers a lot. I have to run a splitter of the Wii through my cable box so that I can record the game on my computer and see it on my TV at the same time, and apparently the signal drops occasionally as a result. I'm trying to figure out how to avoid such problems.

2) In case you're wondering why the scores don't add up, that's because the Presentation, Play Control and Challenge scores are weighed 1 1/3 times as much as usual to make up for the lack of a Plot score.

3) Again, YouTube artlessly sawed off the last few seconds of the video. That stinger is me saying, "That's... that's just dumb!!" after discovering the whole "tilt the Wiimotes" issue during calibration.

As always, constructive feedback is encouraged, and requests are welcome - though I may not be able to fulfill them.

you have to do the controls from samba's point of view. in other words right is left and left is right which is way easier to get use to than it seems. please take this into consideration, that 1 fact makes this game 10 times more enjoyable.

That doesn't change the fact that the game failed to detect when I go from a left-down to left-up shake, or right-down to right-up. If the wiimotes are reversed, that's one thing (though they shouldn't be, because you set the controls at the start of the game). They just wouldn't recognize when I changed position.

Wouldn't know, but I'd doubt it. It looks like they're for show more than anything else. In any case, I wouldn't spend any extra money for a controller that I could only use for one game anyway.

Totally agree: I enjoyed so much this game on the Dreamcast that I thought it was a must buy an WII...but I resell it after a couple of days, due to the bad controls.

in the instruction booklet theres a plot

it does detect left-up is left-right and vice-versa, the same is for down. It wasn't hard to get use to and actually made the game more challenging for me but its not hard to please me so I cant really say for others

I think the multiplayer should have been better, but over all I like the game. I just wish it was better

I really like the points in your review.. however I found myself drifting quite a bit. You need more enthusiasm/power in your voice or people are going to fall asleep. Also, try adding in clips of something other than gameplay.. like try putting in humorous anecdotes and adding clips to relate to them. Maybe try watching other reviewer techniques and adapt them to your own. You would get a lot more attention if you did this because your review in itself was very good .

Another thing try grabbing a chair and sit close to the sensor bar when playing this game it becomes ALOT more accurate for control.
