In some ways he is the Billy Cobham of the keys. Always placing control and tone over speed and complexity but can also do interesting things. I have never really heard any other piano player come close to his style.

Africa is a continent from where so many influences spread globally. Many of which are still not credited because of status quo stupidity and tunnel visions. This music helps remind one of feels that cannot be matched by most who claim to play jazz. This is a true improv exhibition.

I did not see the comment before, but to modes9, no you are not the only one. I play Burtons grip, but I like Hutcherson more, Thank You. & Tybers stuff on Blue note, Hutchersons-Those were some crankin' tunes God bless gifted men like this who give us their gift. I have listened to this so much, I was glad when it came out on cd, my lp was worn
