Shaliapin was a basso cantante and sung such high bass and baritone parts as Demon, Ruslan, Nilakanta... Igor, Vladimir Galizky - and Konchak (in "Prince Igor"). Boris, Pimen and Varlaam (in "Boris Godunov")!

It was more to marvel, than to doubt.
