Just a little check on some of the equipment. See if the old coleman lantern will burn bright.

  • they are actually nickel plated tanks if i am recalling correctly. my 1950 220D has lost most of the nickel plating unfortunatly. thats the one i use. my other one is a big top version but otherwise identical to my 220D. i think its a 220E but i forget now, i know its also a 1950.

  • @1944johndeerel Yeah, I confuse the nickel and the chrome all the time. I'd like to get one with the brass tank someday to add to the collection! Thanks for stopping by Ted!

  • @Hallaran yeah those are very nice looking

  • Thats what they are called!! I remember now my dad calling them "mantle lanterns"........ You're right bud... Thanks for that!!!

  • @mbyr31 mantles

  • Turned out nice man! We have a lantern that runs on white gas... I like that alot better than those that run on batteries!! LOL.

Every now and again you need to replace those mesh pad things in there though. I can't remember what they call them, but they act as a bulb.
