@user98xp yeah they were. his attitude was something also something he developed after the mako poison. his attitude had nothing to do with zack. he was trying to act tough because he thought that was how a soldier acted.

Nah Cloud's memories are his own. After his comma he still rememebered Zack; it was only when Tifa found Cloud that he (or the jenova cells made him) believe he was the 1st class soldier Zack was, instead being a grunt, during the incident.. This game is a mind f*ck even after so long
