This is a video of a fairly strong thunderstorm that was in the process of developing (you can see the rain shaft developing) to the NW and pushing towards the Northeast, which caused the storm to skim us in the West Island of Montreal. However, as it grazed our area, we received a brief heavy downpour, some fairly gusty winds (about 60 km/h) and, of course, thunder and lightning. The storm further developed as it headed in the NE direction, and I heard reports of hail the size of almost golf balls (about 3 cm in diameter) in locations just barely 30 km Northeast of the West Island, as well as reports of torrential downpours in the East End.
In Southern and Southwestern Ontario, severe t-storms were reported there as well, and two confirmed tornadoes were spawned from a couple of them - one was an F1 and the other an F2, which was reported in the town of Avon, Ontario. No fatalities associated with these storms, thankfully. :)
What a satisfying day this was, especially since t-storms have gotten off to a late start this Spring-Summer in many parts of Eastern Canada.
