We passed a huge storage facility of what appear to be FEMA trailers and mobile homes, with so many people loosing their homes and homelessness being such a problem, there must be some way that these trailers could be put to use to house these people.

  • While I agree that Fema may be able to do something different with some of the trailers, I thought I'd explain what was going on here. I live near this location. It is used as an auction site. Fema contracted with a Louisiana Auction company to disperse of the trailers. They were used by people whose homes were destroyed by the hurricanes. These trailers in fact do not sit here and "rot". They are brought here and cleaned up for auctions that take place every couple of months.

  • @anastasia81472 I agree. It's a dirty shame to see this kind of unnecessary waste in a land of plenty.

  • :)

  • Would make sense wouldn't it? Alas, this is America where they would rather see you homeless than to give you something for free.
