This is an excerpt from an interview with Mamady from the documentary "Mögöbalu", which is a follow-up documentary to "Djembefola". Both documentaries are included on the "Djembefola" DVD (http://www.ttmusa.org/market/product_info.php?products_id=55).
I highly recommend this DVD. "Djembefola" is a prize-winning documentary, and "Mögöbalu" contains performance footage of what is probably the greatest assembly of West-African master drummers to ever appear on stage in a single concert: Mamady Keïta, Famoudou Konaté, Soungalo Couibaly, and Doudou N'Diaye Rose.
Besides the two documentaries, the DVD also contains a number of interviews with Mamady.
Highly recommended!
