This number is stunning. All the different setups: the women in the square, the balconies, the cigarette trick- good god!! I think the gazebo dance with the 'barber poles' is one of the 3 best tings Kelly ever did on film- and this is coming from a guy in his 40's!!
And couldn't you see Carol Haney as Louisa (the blonde) and Cyd Charisse as the brunette (in the white hat)?
Technically he was 36 when this came out- this came out in 48 and he was born in 1912 (same year the titanic sunk- which is just an odd thought!) It doesn't make his talent any less amazing. He was just the most amazing dancer- love him so!
