He tried to block a dunk and PJ dunked it. He had a reasonable chance to block it and still got dunked on. It doesn't matter if there is no contact. Sure it wasn't the best but it counts, I was watching when it happened and it was much better than this though.

@mbooker23 yea man, it's pretty obvious kobe wasn't trying to block anything. He just saw a butterfly in the air and was trying to catch it in case pj brown ran into the butterfly.
