lot of bad things happened in the 1980s, was sometimes very depressing, 3m unemployed, miners strike = huge redundancies, falklands war losses totally wasted, british industries privatised, yes some huge political changes that changed the UK forever and even the reverberations of negativity under thathcer can be felt today, the ich/poor divide was remarkably high!
