Bless him, he sounds like a very fascinating man. You're lucky to have had such an interesting uncle.

What a sweet old gentleman he was.

This stove looks a lot like mine, but mine is a Sear & Roebuck. It has a duel fuel grate for either burning wood or coal. I bought mine at an estate sale for $20. I felt like I was stealing it! Your Uncle was awesome! Thank you for sharing him with us.

I really enjoyed the vid. I like to sit and listen to folks of that generation talk about the old time. Shame most of these folks are passing on.

Awesome.

We are thinking of getting a wood cook stove and this is the first video I watched. Thanks for posting it.

my grandparents house has a wood burner just like this. but it is outdoors. my great aunt knew some killer recipes and a wealth of knowledge on how to use the stove. This makes me want to start using it again.

The greatest generation.. Period..

a lot of knowledge is lost with this generation.
Thank you all, my uncle was a self made genius. He had no schooling and grew up isolated in the mountains of western NC. He could make anything. They never had indoor plumbing other than a constantly running gravity fed water line that never cut off. I am so thankful that I captured this bit of video of him before he passed away. He was almost blind at this time.
