There has been an ongoing art project for the last few weeks in all five boroughs of New York City called, "Play Me I'm Yours," which a british artist Luke Jerram has been touring globally since 2008. Essentially, public pianos are placed around New York City for the singular and beautifully sincere purpose of letting people play and experience MUSIC! HOW AMAZING IS THAT?! I went to Tompkins Square Park in the Lower East Side of Manhattan yesterday and played some of my original songs with a few awesomely fantastic jazz cats. They remembered the good ole days when music was spontaneously played in the streets and felt that this project gave new life to New York City, and to the general love and appreciation for a unified, community-based artistic experience. Music is not competitive and not meant primarily for performance value... It's also a LANGUAGE, and LIFE, and just something that happens in the park on a Saturday afternoon. Mothers, daughters, babies, husbands, the homeless, the posh - ALL took turns playing music and singing the classics, pop hits, and jazz standards. I cannot say enough good things about this project and about the concept of being able to experience music anywhere, everywhere, and with whomever so happens to be around for the ride. I am so grateful to have had this experience. If you haven't already, go find one of these pianos and observe the pure and genuine love people have for music. If you don't live in New York City or London, find a piano or guitar or something of your own and do the same wherever you are! Haha the guy that comes up behind you has no sense of personal space. Nice song though. :)

Wow, it's making me angry just watching it. I would have flung my left hand into that guy's face. What is he, drunk? How annoying. Anyway, I LOVED the song! Faved!
