Declawing is just an inhumane scam. Vets think they are doing the right thing, but they are not. People who think furniture is more important than a cat shouldn't bother with having a cat in the first place.

  • Do you know how to spell?

    It's "lying," not "lieing," dumbass

  • @Gollum0786 I actually do forget how to spell some words. I spelled the word right, but I used the wrong word, oops! There's bigger things in life to worry about. :)

I hope you got more out of this video than simply looking for typos, though.

  • @MommyofShadeandKacen A behavior problem needs a behavior-based solution, not a surgical one. In the video, Dr. Conrad explains some of the ethical problems with vets who declaw. Vets who make money from this surgery are not educating clients about behavior modification or training cats to use scratching posts, like the vet association position statements recommend. This unethical behavior is a big reason 8 cities in California banned declawing animals; cats & consumers need protection.

Bottom line: there are humane alternatives. Don't declaw.

  • 2. Declawing cats is not recommended by human health specialists like the CDC, NIH, US Public Health Services and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Even for cats living with humans who have HIV/AIDS. Only vets recommend it and they're the ones who will make the $1200/hour doing it. Hmmmm....

  • Here are the facts:

They've been robbed of their primary defense system, their claws, and must resort to biting and they probably feel a lot of pain in their tender paws, so they don't want to dig in the litter.
