I got denied for a cat at petsmart because i said i would allow my cat to go outside for air n sun once in a while its the cats in need crap organizations then i went to an animal shelter n got. Beutifull REAL cat in need n paid waaay less for the same service n help save a life other people where ther too just cuz the have taken animal to shelters that were strays in the streets hurt or otherwise in need nice right thats whyball the cats there r like years old n been there for a long time

@MommyofShadeandKacen A behavior problem needs a behavior-based solution, not a surgical one. In the video, Dr. Conrad explains some of the ethical problems with vets who declaw. Vets who make money from this surgery are not educating clients about behavior modification or training cats to use scratching posts, like the vet association position statements recommend. This unethical behavior is a big reason 8 cities in California banned declawing animals; cats & consumers need protection.

3. Only laser manufacturing companies say that declawing with a laser is practically pain-free. The truth is, in double blind studies, that is not the case. Lasers cost $45,000. 45,000 reasons to declaw the cat.
Bottom line: there are humane alternatives. Don't declaw.

2. Declawing cats is not recommended by human health specialists like the CDC, NIH, US Public Health Services and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Even for cats living with humans who have HIV/AIDS. Only vets recommend it and they're the ones who will make the $1200/hour doing it. Hmmmm....

Here are the facts:
1. Declawing does not necessarily prevent a cat from losing its home for scratching furniture. Look in any shelter. There are many declawed cats who have lost their homes because they (the declawed cats) are more likely to bite and less likely to use their litter boxes. They've been robbed of their primary defense system, their claws, and must resort to biting and they probably feel a lot of pain in their tender paws, so they don't want to dig in the litter.

@Gollum0786 I actually do forget how to spell some words. I spelled the word right, but I used the wrong word, oops! There's bigger things in life to worry about. :)
I hope you got more out of this video than simply looking for typos, though.
