We developed a product specifically for firefighters - the Motorola APX 7000XE.
Bruce Claxton, our Senior Director of Innovation Design, describes the extreme situations firefighters face, and how we try to understand these environments to build better products.

The APX 7000XE was built for firefighters. It's large top display for easy reading, intelligent lighting, oversized tactile controls, large PTT, the largest emergency button in the industry, rugged T-shape with rubberized grip, loud & clear audio, and interoperability to talk across agencies all make it safer for firefighters. It's safety redefined.

  • It may be about safety and saving lives but as high as you're selling them to agencies for, its REALLY all about the money, Motorola. It always has been and always will be. Even with the discounts agencies get, they are still not enough to make them affordable for every officer who needs one.

  • I want this video on my GSmart i120 unit.

  • 0:25 the fire fighter looks amazingly relaxed :)

  • This video went viral on Singapore

  • I wish they made them in a low band VHF.

  • its nice

  • These are truly mindblowing radios. They really did things right on it.

  • Now if only Motorola can bring the cost down to a sane amount to where the agencies can afford it. Right now, 95% of the agencies in the US cannot afford this technology. The radios are amazing. The price is prohibitive. Still, thanks for the video!

  • I give them one thing,,,, The VOCODER has been inproved greatly

  • how much dose this cost?
