***EDITOR'S NOTE: The first left turn and the ending point of the course are incorrect. Parts of the course have not yet been built and regular traffic could not drive through certain areas. We are working on a fix. Thank you to our readers who have pointed out this error.*** New Jersey will host its first-ever Formula One Grand Prix in June 2013. To show what the racetrack looks from the driver's seat, Star-Ledger columnist Mark DiIonno drives the proposed 3.2-mile course that spans the waterfront of Weehawken and West New York. • Seriously?...the video is credited to "Bumper deJesus"

If you are British and you know that "bumper = "fender" then this

is just the. best. name. ever. for a guy filming a future F1 circuit

    Rinde on "Holy Fender"!

  • Thanks @GarethMcKinley. This made me laugh. Bumper (from TVJersey).

  • Very nice video, but i think you got the location of Turn 1 wrong. The circuit plans show it turning left long before that building.

  • @PeatCowman That is because there is no road there right now. The track will cut across the NY Waterway Ferry parking lot. The route shown here is as close as anyone can get on public roads.

  • @thanat99 Thanks. Traffic flow and road closures also prevented our drivers from driving through the actual course.

  • @PeatCowman You are absolutely correct. We realized the error last night and we are working on a fix. Barricades and one-way traffic also prevented our drivers from traversing the actual course. Thank you.

  • If you see these pictures, it's really hard to imagine that F1 is going to drive there. When i first heard of about a street circuit there I thought about something like Valencia or Singapore on city highways but this seems really more like Monaco. I cant wait to see it !

  • There were so many chances to overtake here ... Were you in a HRT?

  • @RichPrepKid8888 Terrible track is right. Although it will be interesting to see a formula 1 race with speed bumps....lol

  • @plateofshrimp I absolutely agree with you on that point. Ticket sales will plummet because so many people will just be able to look out their apartment windows and watch the races for free. But by the same token that stretch being a race track for Formula 1 once a year might also prevent people from investing in the unfinished apartments not everyone wants to hear cars roaring past their windows...Think about the people who work late night shifts that tend to sleep during the day.

  • Very nice video! This is gonna be the shortest grand prix 3.2 miles lol

  • The speed bumps will be fun :P

  • That's going to be on fast friggin F1 course. I won't be suprized to see a chicane up on the top somewhere.

  • Good video. But terrible track

  • All those apartments = less people buying tickets
