Dont shoot at a lit Tank

The Tank's damage from fire and gunshots is tracked separately, as this video shows. You should either shoot him or burn him. But doing both is either a waste of ammo, or waste of a molotov.

But if you shoot a lit tank 15 times before the timer runs out, it will die sooner due to gunshot damage. As long as there's ammo around which there usually is, it makes perfect sense to me to light him up to start the timer (guaranteeing death in x seconds) and then try to take him down sooner by blasting away (the sooner the better).

I would agree with that, it makes a good "both plan A and plan B" attack.

@greendiode But on Expert, there's no chance of you getting close enough to do enough damage to shorten its life. It would overtake you in a second and that'd be the end for you. So the only SENSIBLE strategy to deal with a Tank on Expert is to light it up and run far away.

A lot of people on the internet have told me they've got the skills to take on a Tank, on Expert, on fire, alone, up close. Funny how I've yet to meet any in-game. I guess all the awesome FPS players live out west.
