the cap is to avoid hackers, thanks for the video though.

Mine is NOTHING near as good quality as this, but it's the same camera and settings.

@IoannouPanagiotis Yep, it's all about killing the right sound! Makes you sound like you are underwater.

Thanks for the review. There is a way to record at 1080p with the LifeCam Studio, I had to do it for a client. You need to remove the previous drivers and restart. The "new" webcam was using the old drivers from the last webcam, so I was only able to record at 720p. So after rebooting and installing the matching software, plugged the LifeCam Studio in and it worked. Besides, using 3rd party software, you can now use LifeCam Studio software to record at 1080p.

Had a similar issue. Lifecam software itself might be buggy or firmware update with lifecam capture software might be buggy.

Yeah, firmware update appears to black out cam on the LifeCam software. Had to plug in USB, 2times when it did that. Re-plug 1time in some cases.
Do a exchange and don't update firmware again.
Although, test your cam on Ustream, Stickam or XP's Movie Makers and see if it has the same probs.

@CrewRite thanks for the advice man. i forgot to mention that the webcam that i bought is logitech 910. after some researching and tests i discovered that the problem with the sound is only when i want record in 1080p. when i downsized at 720p* (not 720p) the sound of the mp3 becomes clear again. also the c910 in the menu has a button that says "right sound"...my advice......UNCHECK it...

Surprised the cap isn`t connected to cam by plastic string.

Walmart sometimes sells defects. I`ve heard worser stories than what has happened to me. Save more, live bluntly.
i see that you are a guitar player (i saw in an other video that you had a guitar in your room). can you tell me if you've ever tried to record your guitar with the amplifier (with distortion) from the microphone built on the LifeCam Studio 1080p...?

@IoannouPanagiotis I have not tried that out, but I have had music playing loudly into the webcam and it gets very muddy sounding, so I wouldn't expect recording a guitar to work much better.

Solid review, was this recorded with the built in mic? It sounds pretty good quality.

@TheAcesniper That is indeed the on-cam mic. It picks up a lot of bass, so EQing some of that off is a good idea.

Do not purchase. Firmware update bricks unit. Do not purchase.

@scottjohnrobertson A firmware update bricked your camera. I've updated the firmware on my camera twice since it's original release and it's still working fine. You should RMA your camera and get it replaced or get a refund. :)
