  • totally agree w/ u on that about the angles, that's where the magic is in gaining the most leverage; defense or offense. i personally associate silat of indonesia w/ muay thai/boran of thailand because the two countries are neighbors and the styles are ancient. i really dig the silat stance as others, with one shoulder cocked back like a boxer. so "fluid", that's awesome!

  • @LongDongSilver78 it does depend on the fighter in the end lol but pentcak silat or other forms of silat if used correctly will dominate over muay thai, tkd or karate. my father does bukti negar pentjak silat n has black belts n many other arts but he believes silat is the best, it has everything in it. n uses science and math 2 form the perfect angles of strikes n takedowns, which is why a 155lb man can drop a 300lb man with ease in silat, trust me, ive seen it done in person

  • 3:40 LOL

  • the writhe of a dying snake after a Thundercat steps on it.

  • @YSN524 You should watch how this silat stance is used in Merantau movie. Go and watch.

  • @ashnie305 i'm indonesian, i totally agree with you.

  • @reepityou lol..nice one!

  • @johydee1 the low stance is a common stance in silat, its developed from the real world terrain, see the footage above?most likely the groung will turn into mud puddle under heavy rain-which very common-in the south east asia rainy season so one of the idea is to avoid a slip. if you paying attention you see that the man rarely raised his foot, from the `terrain idea` we know why silat doesnt havea lot of high kicking techs

  • asik nih

  • I could totally take this guy by using the soft parts of my body against his hands and feet. Eventually he would get tired of hitting me and twisting me into a pretzel and he would give up! Seriously tho, how are you supposed to do anything to him. He looks mega flexible and I cant even bend down that low to hit him.

  • @themsyeah man, this things on the footage is part of the tradition, i know there are many type of person that solely seeking martial arts for its application purposes, but kembangan (bunga or jurus) is just the way of the tradition. @all check bobee edmond juru 2 for the basic idea why silat masters on the past time created this kind of things.
