great tone. i love ur sound. i played for bout 4-5 months. i think my only problem was actually keeping my 1st finger on the top key, but that's cuz i'd space out a lot and wouldn't pay attention. ha ha. i was actually usually in tune, but my sound was a bit funny. that was last school year. planning to play it again, as well as continuing bassoon, which i couldn't this year because the only school bassoon was too old and kept messing up. :(

Very nice sound :) How long have you been playing? I don't think I'll every attempt learning the oboe. I'll just enjoy listening to nice clips like this one :) I was traumatized by another double-reed instrument (bombard) which was REALLY hard for me to play :)

Oh thank you :) This was some years ago. I have improved a lot but yet I still consider myself a learner. Oboe IS a tough instrument to play. I too thought about just leaving it and pick something else while enjoying others play it but I love it too much to stop!
Bombard is LOUD!!! oboe once you know how to produce a nice tone will sound way different than bombard!

wow your tone is amazing.
iv been playing oboe for about a year
and my tone is a bit sharp and a bit
too bright. any suggestions?

Thank you but trust me i'm on the same boat! For brightness I think you have to experiment with your embouchure, make your lips rounder (O sound)especially for the B and middle C which are the brightest and use a tuner. I just got one and found out I WAS sharp!!Listen to recordings of the sound u like and that should help you alot.
